DFU mode permits all devices to recover from any state. DFU mode means device firmware upgrade mode where BootRom can receive IBSS. Basically, BootRom is one kind of Read-Only Memory, where stored a piece of code.
DFU is a part of the secure room that burns hardware, so it cannot be detached. In this post, I will share with you how to enter and exit DFU Mode on iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus.

- If notice that, your device screen is black, that’s it!
- Finally, your iPhone 7 device has been successfully in DFU mode.

What is DFU Mode?
DFU mode is a device firewire mode and is primarily used to downgrade your iOS but can also be used to install custom firmware to jailbreak the phone. It is a different recovery because iPhone 7 recovery mode is going to give you the latest version of iOS.

Let go of the power button and keep your finger on the home button for an additional five seconds. If you see the Apple logo or Plug into iTunes bad news and you did it wrong then, you can start the process over. If your screen is black then it is well.
You’re in DFU mode and now you should be able to spec your home. If you’re ready to make successfully DFU (device firmware upgrade) then press the Home button for 10 seconds or at the same time until the Apple logo appears.
.If you want to put your iPhone 7 in DFU mode the process is similar but you’re going to need your power button and the bottom volume button. So, I’ll say you that process now press the power button for 3 seconds then press the low volume button and hold them both for 10 seconds then let go of the power button and hold the lower volume button for five additional seconds.
Just I should be able to detect you’re ok. So, when you want to get out of DFU mode go and hold the power button and the lower volume button for 10 seconds or until the Apple logo shows up on your phone.

How to Put An iPhone In DFU Mode
The first thing you need to do is to plug in your iPhone to a computer. You can’t put your iPhone into DFU mode unless it’s plugged into iTunes. So, Plugging it in plug it into this Mac now. I’ve never hooked up this iPhone and synced it with this iTunes library before and that’s okay.
We just using the Mac right now as a tool to restore the iPhone. So, let’s say you’re having a problem with your computer. So, iTunes is now open on this Mac and I’m going to put this into DFU mode the good thing about it. DFU mode is that you can basically put an iPhone into DFU mode and ignore everything.
So how do you put an iPhone into DFU mode? After that, Hold the power button and the volume button together. Then let go of the power button and keep holding the volume down button. Similarly, the iPhone 6s below the first five seconds hold the power button and the home button.
